Google's current documentation focuses on usefulness, accuracy, relevance and intent. The important distinction is between helpful automation and scaled content created primarily to manipulate rankings.
What Google's guidance says
Google states that generative AI can be useful for research and structure. It also says using generative AI or similar tools to create many pages without adding value may violate the scaled content abuse policy.
What this means for autoblogging
Do not treat “AI content is allowed” as permission to publish every generated draft. The safe operating model is selective topics, source-backed claims, human review, original value, sensible update cycles and a clear reason each page exists.
How to evaluate vendors
Be skeptical of any SEO vendor that turns Google's nuanced guidance into a guarantee of rankings or safety. Google explicitly says third-party SEO tools do not have access to its internal ranking data and cannot guarantee performance.
