AI SEO quality control: the checklist that makes automation usable.
Content automation becomes reliable when every generated page must pass a small number of explicit quality gates. The goal is not to make AI text look human; it is to ensure the page deserves to exist and can be trusted.
Intent gate
Confirm the page satisfies a distinct search need and does not cannibalize an existing URL. Merge same-intent keyword variants rather than publishing a page for each wording.
Evidence gate
Verify unstable facts, pricing, features, statistics, quotes and claims against strong sources. High-stakes topics need substantially stronger review or should be excluded from automation entirely.
Original-value gate
Add material that is specific to the audience: real product context, workflow decisions, examples, comparison logic, proprietary data or clear synthesis. A rewritten SERP is not enough.
Site-fit gate
Check internal links, commercial relevance, page hierarchy, metadata, images and whether the page strengthens the site's existing topic graph.
Publish gate
A human or explicit policy should be able to reject the draft. Automation without a stop condition is the core operational risk.
